Croatian language departments at foreign higher education institutions
The Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sports oversees 36 official exchange language departments of Croatian language and literature, as well as two Centres for Croatian Studies in Australia and Canada, which it co-finances. Besides these language departments and centres which cover more than 2.000 students in 20 countries, the Ministry partly supports another 30 independent language departments that are not in its jurisdiction.
In order to improve the quality of teaching the Croatian language and literature, the Ministry regularly equips Croatian language departments with literature, dictionaries, films as well as other educational and multimedia material, regardless of whether they are in its jurisdiction or not.

Croatian courses at language schools abroad
Private language schools throughout the world may also provide Croatian language courses. Prospective students should search through web resources in their home countries to identify language schools that may suit their needs.
Occasionally, Croatian embassies abroad may have additional information on Croatian language learning opportunities, so prospective student should contact Croatian embassies in their home countries for advice.
