Prospective students who wish to apply for graduate and postgraduate study programmes are advised to contact the International Cooperation Office at the higher education institution they are applying to well before starting their studies. The International Cooperation Office will provide relevant information on application procedures and other important matters.
As a part of the application process, prospective students must submit a set of application documents, usually containing the following:
- Application form (available from each higher education institution)
- Curriculum vitae
- Diploma
- Grade transcript
- Statement of purpose
- Two references by members of the home higher education institution
- Certificate of Croatian language proficiency (for study programmes taught in Croatian).

Note: All foreign documents must be translated as certified translations. Additionally, copies of original foreign public documents must also be certified by a public notary.
